 Since Bob Daugherty founded the company in 1946, Valmont has been known for encouraging innovation and recognizing opportunity. In 1995, Valmont recognized the opportunities presented by the information revolution when it acquired the Microflect Company. Microflect designs, manufactures and installs communication structures, passive repeaters, waveguide supporting systems and components for the wireless communication markets.
The merger complimented and enhanced Valmont's leadership position in the design and manufacturing of communications poles. Valmont is now a broad product and service provider offering communication poles, towers and components as well as installation and follow-on maintenance services for the wireless communication industry.
