Tower and Pole Re-analysis Policies and Pricing

Scope
Valmont Microflect provides structural re-analysis studies on existing towers and monopoles to determine if the structure is capable of supporting loading that is different than previous specifications. The engineering report, sealed by a registered professional engineer, summarizes design criteria, member and anchor bolts factors of safety, details how the loading affects the tower and foundation, specifies feasible modifications, and proposes modification materials (if applicable). Turn-around time is usually within five business days.

Pricing
Re-analysis pricing is dependent on many factors (Ex. Type, height, age, complexity of structure, etc.). Please contact your Valmont Microflect Account Representative for a quotation. Budgetary numbers that can be used for estimating are:

Budgetary Re-analysis Pricing
Monopoles $1000 to $1500
Self-Supporting Towers $1000 min, add $10/ft above 100’ (Max - $2500)
Guyed Towers $2000 min, add $5/ft above 200’ (Max - $3000)

  • Add $250 for PE certification, $500 for SE certification and for small number of states where we currently do not have registration.

  • We can offer special pricing for expediting analyses as well as volume discounts.
Additional Services
If analysis results indicate structure is inadequate, the customer may be contacted and one revised load case can be considered at no additional fee prior to final write-up. If multiple cases are needed at the time of order add $300 (self-supporting towers and monopoles) or $600 (guyed towers) for each case.

Request
Please send the following by fax, mail, or e-mail reanalysis@valmont.com.
  • Structure Identification - There are multiple ways to track down structure files in our archives. See Identification.

  • Tower Loading - Send a list of the antennas, mounts, transmission lines, and any other appurtenances (e.g. lights, conduit, lightning rod extenders, ladders, etc.) you want considered with the study. In addition to the proposed and future loading, please list the existing loading, as our files often do not accurately reflect what is currently on a structure. For your convenience, you may use the following Structure Re-analysis Information Sheet. The more information we have, such as exact antenna models, dish azimuth, and transmission line layout, the more accurately and less conservatively we can analyze the tower. This may save you from having to modify the structure. Detailed photos are also helpful.

  • Purchase Order - A purchase order is required to initiate a study. If we do not have credit terms set up with your company, you may pay in advance by check or credit card or submit a credit application. Please note that approving a credit application often takes longer than performing the study.
Policies
  • Towers will be analyzed per the current TIA/EIA Standard unless otherwise stated.

  • Recommended modifications may be limited to those considered standard by Valmont Microflect.

  • Changes to the loading after the study is initiated may incur additional charges.

  • Cancellations will incur charges up to the full fee depending on the status of the project.
Submittal of Tower Re-analysis Information
You may either fax or mail a copy of the printed Re-analysis Information Sheet or submit the Online Form. Both documents request the same information.
