Valmont Microflect is at your service with a variety of standard towers to support all common sizes and types of communication antennas and reflectors.
Standard towers are available in a number of different shapes and sizes, and include members utilizing pipe, angle, solid round, and other hot-rolled steel shapes. All towers are designed in accordance with the latest edition of the EIA Standard 222, the American Institute of Steel Construction (A.I.S.C.), the American Concrete Institute (A.C.I.), and/or customer specifications.
Assembly drawings, foundation layouts, and packaging slips listing all parts and hardware are furnished with each tower. Engineering computations and installation drawings are prepared with the building permit process in mind. Information required to obtain permits is included under contracts calling for engineering documentation. Additional information required by particular jurisdictions for building permits is also available at a nominal extra cost.
Formal stress analyses and foundation design calculations are available upon request for each tower. Structural analyses and antenna loading calculations are carried out with the aid of an in-house computer system, specifically programmed to handle problems unique to tower design.
The majority of Valmont Microflect tower parts are fabricated from ASTM A36 structural shapes and plates. High yield strength steel is used for some applications. Connecting hardware is either ASTM A325 or SAE Grade 5 bolts with split ring lockwashers. Anchor bolt material is generally F1554, Grade 55, or equivalent. The pipe used is ASTM A53, Grade B structural pipe. Care is taken whenever pipe sections are used to ensure that they remain open over their entire length to allow complete drainage and permit full inside and outside galvanizing. Material is galvanized per ASTM A123 for structural shapes and ASTM A153 or B695 Grade 50 for hardware.
