Tomerini irrigates 142 ha of sugar cane with center pivots, and has a small section served by flood irrigation. "The time and labor it takes to manage the flood field is a real disadvantage. Plus we are forced to use significantly more water per acre on the flood field, and our production isn't any better despite the need for more water, energy and manpower."
