In his role as vice president, North America pole operations, Dan is responsible for establishing and executing operational strategies in support of the North America structures and utility business segments. Dan’s primary responsibilities include safety, quality, performance and overall operations.

Dan started his engineering career at Valmont® in 1999. He was promoted to design engineer and then into engineering management for the coatings and wind energy divisions, as well as international projects. After a year away, Dan returned to Valmont in 2009 as a project director, which included creating and opening a coatings and pole manufacturing facility in India. Dan was named operations director for Asia Pacific in 2012, before returning to the U.S. to lead operations at the main structures manufacturing facility in Valley, Nebraska.

In early 2017, Dan was named director of operations with oversight of four Valmont production facilities. Later, three more factories were added, including oversight of aluminum manufacturing. In late 2018, Dan was named to his current position.

Dan earned his BS in mechanical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1999 and his MBA from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) in 2005.
