Throughout his 36-year career with Valmont®, Mark has held a number of finance and accounting positions. Since 2014, he served as the company’s chief financial officer before announcing his planned retirement at the end of 2020. Mark recently accepted the position of vice president of finance and corporate secretary to provide guidance and institutional knowledge to the incoming CFO.

Previous to his executive roles, Mark served in a number of finance and accounting positions, including assistant corporate controller, manager of internal audit and divisional controller of international. During his tenure as international controller, Valmont expanded international business operations in China, Europe and Brazil. Mark was promoted to vice president and corporate controller in 2000 and served in that capacity until his appointment as CFO.

Mark is a long-time board member of the Nebraska Chapter of Financial Executives International and has served as a past chapter president. He was named as a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) College of Business Administration in 2012 and currently serves on the advisory boards for the College of Business Administration and School of Accountancy. He is also a member of the finance committee and board of directors with Catholic Charities of Omaha.

Mark graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1979 with a BS in business administration. He also earned his MBA degree from UNO in 1992.
